A law firm seeks an experienced and results-oriented Senior Immigration Attorney to join its team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Duties

  • Provide comprehensive explanations of immigration processes and deliver strategic legal solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload while adhering to deadlines and maintaining a high standard of work quality.
  • Conduct intake interviews and provide legal counsel to detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize a variety of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense cases.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to navigate immigration law changes and offer training or insights.
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients to develop tailored legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS interviews.
  • Analyze complex legal situations to determine potential benefits or relief options for clients.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements

  • Experience:

    • 5–8 years of professional experience in immigration law, including family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, detained and removal defense, citizenship applications, and EOIR representation.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle and progress legal cases effectively.
  • Skills:

    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in case management and document preparation.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Bar of any U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration laws and procedures, with the ability to adapt to evolving regulations.
  • Experience with legal case management software is preferred.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to assess complex legal matters.
  • Ability to prepare persuasive legal documents and represent clients effectively in court.
