A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Professional Practice Group in Boston, MA. This position focuses on providing legal counsel, risk management, and dispute resolution services to architects, engineers, and construction managers, as well as their professional liability insurers. The ideal candidate will be involved in managing complex civil disputes and construction-related claims, working closely with senior attorneys, clients, and industry experts on high-value, sophisticated cases.

Duties:

  • Evaluate and manage complex disputes, providing strategic direction to resolve litigation matters.
  • Engage in risk management for high-value construction and design claims.
  • Develop and implement resolution strategies for complex disputes between sophisticated parties.
  • Manage and coordinate with local counsel in multi-jurisdictional matters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and industry experts to prosecute and defend claims.
  • Stay current on emerging issues within the construction and design fields, such as AI use, alternative construction models, and specialized risk management frameworks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in complex litigation, or related to the design and construction industry.
  • Strong interest in modern construction projects and risk management in design and engineering.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts (admission to other New England states is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, senior attorneys, and external experts.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Massachusetts Bar admission is required.
  • Admission to other New England state bars is preferred.
