Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with 6-10 years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research, drafting, and analytical skills, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. They should be proficient in drafting petitions, responsive pleadings, conducting discovery (including depositions), and making court appearances.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on civil litigation matters.
• Draft petitions, responsive pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Handle discovery practice, including conducting and defending depositions.
• Make court appearances and argue motions as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Manage case files and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• 6-10 years of litigation experience, preferably in civil litigation.
• Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to inspire client confidence.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and legal research tools like Lexis/Nexis.
