Job Overview

This role focuses on patent prosecution, due diligence, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis, with an emphasis on managing large-scale global portfolios.

Duties

• Supervise and guide technical specialists and junior attorneys on day-to-day patent prosecution matters.
• Conduct and oversee patent due diligence and FTO evaluations.
• Provide strategic counseling and advisory services to clients in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Manage large client portfolios and coordinate global patent-related activities.
• Lead client meetings to discuss strategy and project updates.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in patent law, including supervision and training of junior team members.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex client portfolios and coordinate with international stakeholders.
• Experience in patent prosecution, FTO analysis, and due diligence within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

Education

• Advanced degree in a hard science discipline, such as molecular biology, cellular biology, gene therapy, or immunology, is strongly preferred.

Certifications

• Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Licensed to practice law in California.
