Duties

  • Case Management & Legal Representation:

    • Handle diverse family law cases, including divorce, child custody, support, and related matters.
    • Represent clients in court, including making legal arguments, presenting evidence, and participating in proceedings.
  • Client Interaction & Legal Counseling:

    • Provide compassionate and effective legal representation, helping clients navigate emotionally charged family law issues.
    • Offer strategic legal advice, negotiate settlements, and draft relevant legal documents, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork:

    • Work closely with colleagues, fostering a collaborative and positive team atmosphere.
    • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure efficient case management and resolution.
  • Case Preparation & Legal Research:

    • Conduct thorough legal research to inform case strategies and ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
    • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in preparing documents, case files, and courtroom presentations.
  • Caseload Management & Deadlines:

    • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely completion of tasks while meeting all deadlines.
    • Prioritize competing tasks in a high-demand, deadline-driven legal environment.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Assist with other projects and duties as assigned, contributing to the firm’s ongoing success.

Requirements

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing family law.
    • Proven ability to manage a caseload and represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support issues.
  • Licensing:

    • Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively convey legal concepts to clients, colleagues, and the court.
    • Strong legal writing skills, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and compelling legal documents.
    • Exceptional attention to detail in legal documentation, case preparation, and client communications.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Client Service:

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
