Job Title: Department Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Dallas, TX is seeking a dedicated attorney to join its Subrogation & Recovery practice group. This position focuses on assessing large-scale property damage cases with an eye toward recovery opportunities from third-party liability. The role provides the opportunity to work in a sophisticated legal environment without the demands of traditional billable hour expectations. The position is offered through a legal recruitment firm on behalf of the hiring law firm.

Duties:

  • Oversee preliminary evaluation of major property loss incidents to assess legal viability for recovery.

  • Coordinate fact-gathering efforts including investigation timelines and documentation strategies.

  • Engage with and manage technical experts to support analysis of potential liability.

  • Draft clear and detailed client communications regarding legal assessments and claim status.

  • Identify and develop recovery strategies by analyzing liability theories based on facts and law.

  • Support the subrogation and recovery process through strategic review and legal insight.

  • Maintain organized documentation and case notes to support claim progression.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: property insurance litigation, commercial disputes, construction-related claims, or subrogation recovery.

  • Strong command of legal writing, research, and client-focused communication.

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas and good standing.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal analysis and liability assessment.

  • Capable of managing investigative processes and expert coordination.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to assess risk and identify recovery opportunities.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment.
