Associate Attorney Employment Litigation

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join its employment litigation team in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves advocating for employees in workplace disputes, including cases of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators, tackle meaningful cases, and contribute to positive outcomes for clients.

Duties:

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, for employment-related litigation.
• Manage discovery processes, including preparing, responding to, and reviewing requests.
• Conduct and defend depositions to gather and challenge evidence.
• Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and court hearings.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, advice, and case strategy.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop comprehensive case strategies.

Requirements:

• Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar.
• At least 2 years of litigation experience, with a focus on California employment law preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills to support effective advocacy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar (required).

Skills:

• Proficient in California employment law, including workplace discrimination, retaliation, and harassment matters.
• Skilled in drafting legal documents and preparing discovery materials.
