The role involves handling a variety of family law cases, providing expert legal counsel, and representing clients in meetings and court proceedings. Duties:

  • Meet with clients to understand the facts and goals of their cases.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and other legal materials.
  • Draft legal documents including petitions, responses, and trial briefs.
  • Represent clients in meetings, hearings, and court trials.
  • Advocate for clients’ interests with professionalism and dedication.
  • Keep senior attorneys informed of key developments in ongoing cases.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and ensure secure storage of all data.
  • Report on billable hours worked for each assignment.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure client needs are met efficiently.
  • Stay informed about updates and changes to family law legislation.
  • Participate in networking groups, such as BNI or ProVisors, to build connections.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • 1-3 years of experience practicing family law.
  • Eagerness to learn from senior attorneys and adapt to firm practices.
  • Knowledge of family law legislation and case law.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and understanding of human behavior.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Minimum billable hours requirement of 6 hours per day.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
