Job Title: Post-Conviction Relief Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Victorville, CA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Post-Conviction Relief Attorney to join its growing legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex cases involving post-conviction relief while gaining valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law. The attorney will work closely with other legal professionals, managing their caseload and contributing to collaborative team efforts.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on legal rights and draft legal documents related to post-conviction relief cases
  • Handle a variety of post-conviction cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation
  • Attend motion hearings and provide clients with strategic legal advice post-hearing
  • Assist with ongoing criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, plea negotiations, and sentencing
  • Conduct legal research, prepare motions, interview clients, and represent clients in court
  • Analyze legal precedents to predict case outcomes
  • Collaborate with the firm's legal team on criminal and immigration cases

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in criminal defense or immigration law
  • Proven ability to handle criminal cases at the state and local levels

  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar
