A law firm seeks a driven and detail-oriented attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in land use and litigation to join its team. The firm is dedicated to representing clients on a regional, national, and global scale, advocating for their interests with professionalism, ethics, and assertiveness. Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft detailed memoranda on findings.
  • Prepare and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Handle written discovery and manage document collection, production, and review in complex cases.
  • Take and defend depositions, and present persuasive arguments at court hearings.
  • Represent clients in land use matters, including development and permitting issues.
  • Coordinate with clients, municipal staff, and development team members throughout the application and development process.
  • Appear before municipal and state agencies for permitting applications.
  • Draft and defend appeals of land use decisions and associated memoranda.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in land use and litigation.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and compelling legal documents.
  • Effective oral communication skills and confidence in public speaking.
  • Self-motivated, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Active membership in the Rhode Island Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Rhode Island Bar.
