A law firm in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking an experienced Attorney to handle existing family law cases. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in family law, excellent interpersonal skills, and either a partial book of business or the ability to generate new business. This role requires a blend of legal expertise and business development acumen to manage and grow a diverse caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and handle existing family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, and property division.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients throughout all stages of their family law matters.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and effective case management.
  • Generate new business opportunities to build and expand the firm’s family law practice.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions, memoranda, and other documents as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in family law legislation and case law.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the firm to ensure comprehensive client service.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Indiana.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in family law.
  • Proven track record of managing family law cases successfully.
  • Ability to generate and develop new business or possess a partial book of business.
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:
