A law firm seeks an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to manage and represent clients in various bankruptcy matters. This role involves handling a high caseload, providing legal expertise, and advocating in court hearings. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a strong ability to manage deadlines and client expectations.

Duties

  • Review and execute documents such as Payment Change Notices, Post-Petition Fee Notices, Transfers of Claim, and Proofs of Claim.
  • Conduct Chapter 13 Plan Reviews and provide strategic insights.
  • Attend court hearings, both in-person and telephonic, representing clients in various bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Prepare and file Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay, Objections to Chapter 13 Plans, and other pleadings associated with secured creditors in bankruptcy cases.
  • Manage an assigned caseload, ensuring that goals and client expectations are met effectively and efficiently.
  • Handle time-sensitive and escalated matters with urgency and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate on special projects and provide additional legal support as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Nevada (multi-jurisdictional admission is preferred but not required).
  • A minimum of one year of experience in bankruptcy law is preferred, particularly in mortgage servicing or related areas.
  • Experience with Chapter 11 and Adversary Proceedings is a plus, but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the State Bar (Nevada preferred).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research skills, including the ability to utilize both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
