USCIS Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an experienced USCIS Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law, demonstrating a solid ability to manage a diverse caseload, develop strategies, and represent clients effectively. The role involves handling removal proceedings, family-based immigration petitions, and various USCIS applications. The candidate should possess exceptional interpersonal skills, be bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred), and be proficient in case management software.

Duties:

• Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a substantial workload of immigration cases.
• Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
• Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and devise necessary strategies.
• Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits for clients.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of Immigration Law experience.
• Proven track record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload effectively.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in case management software.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
