Tax and Estate Planning Associate Attorney

A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Tax and Estate Planning Associate Attorney with 4-8 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have an LLM in tax, strong academic credentials, and California Bar admission. Experience in basic and advanced estate planning, probate and trust administration, and T&E litigation is preferred.

Duties:

• Drafting revocable trusts, wills, advance health care directives, and powers of attorney for basic estate planning.
• Preferred experience in drafting irrevocable trusts and tax planning for advanced estate planning.
• Handling probate and trust administration matters.
• Experience in T&E litigation, including drafting petitions for instruction, modification of trusts, and termination of trusts.

Requirements:

• LLM in tax preferred.
• California Bar admission.
• 4-8 years of experience.
• Preferred coursework in trusts and estates, estate and gift tax, income tax, and income tax of trusts and estates.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• LLM in Taxation preferred.

Skills:

• Strong drafting skills for legal documents related to estate planning and administration.
• Ability to conduct tax planning for clients.
• Experience in T&E litigation is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
