A law firm seeks a highly motivated and skilled Litigation Attorney to join its team remotely in support of the firm's Texas-based office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with a strong interest in debt recovery litigation and a desire to handle complex legal cases involving major financial institutions. The firm offers a flexible work-from-home arrangement with occasional travel for court appearances and training.

Duties:

  • Negotiate settlements and resolve pending litigation matters.
  • Handle motion practice, including drafting pleadings and discovery.
  • Review, prepare, and execute legal documents in a high-volume practice.
  • Attend court hearings and trials in the assigned regional area; travel expenses are reimbursed.
  • Manage legal cases with strong attention to detail, adhering to court procedures and deadlines.
  • Interact professionally with clients, staff, opposing counsel, and the courts.
  • Take responsibility for managing a high caseload while ensuring all legal processes are followed accurately.

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Minimum 1 year of civil litigation experience, preferably in debt recovery or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with courtroom procedures and civil litigation practices.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in managing cases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general technology tools.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Texas State Bar License (Required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in civil litigation, including motion practice, pleading and discovery preparation, and case management.
  • Negotiation skills to resolve disputes and settlements.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and courts.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage and track multiple cases.
  • Proficiency in using legal technology and Microsoft Office Suite for document management and communication.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
