A law firm in Boise, ID, is seeking an EE Patent Agent with a strong academic background and 1-2 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, though exceptional candidates with backgrounds in Physics, Computer Science, or other Engineering disciplines will also be considered. Experience in wireless communications is advantageous. Job Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications primarily in Electrical Engineering.
  • Conduct patentability searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Assist in managing patent portfolios and developing IP strategies.
  • Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and clients to prepare technical documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding patent prosecution matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Patent Agent or in a similar role.
  • Eligibility to practice before the USPTO is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of patent laws and procedures.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in drafting patent applications and responding to office actions.
  • Technical expertise in Electrical Engineering principles and wireless communications (preferred).
