Litigation Associate - Medical Negligence & General Litigation

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Develop case strategies and provide legal counsel to clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to support case management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and work to resolve cases promptly.
• Stay current on developments in the legal field, particularly in medical negligence and litigation.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of litigation experience, particularly in medical negligence cases.
• Proven track record of handling litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent academic credentials (top 25% of law school class preferred).
• Strong oral communication and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize a high volume of work.
• Ability to manage complex legal matters and meet tight deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Alabama.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in the state of Alabama.
• Medical negligence certification or experience is a plus, though not required.
