Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and passionate Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join their team in Columbia, South Carolina. This role focuses on providing excellent client service and achieving favorable results through effective litigation. Attorneys will represent clients in all phases of litigation, from pre-trial to trial preparation, while maintaining strong communication with clients and insurance companies.

Duties:

• Meet with clients to discuss their cases, offering legal advice and building trust through empathetic communication.
• Regularly update clients on case progress, addressing concerns and offering advice on claims and settlement options.
• Evaluate personal injury claims and property damage cases to determine the best course of action.
• Represent clients in litigation, preparing cases for trial and handling all pre-trial motions and hearings.
• Communicate with insurance companies to negotiate claims and offers.
• Collaborate with the legal team to develop strategies for successful case resolution.
• Maintain a manageable caseload, ensuring each case progresses efficiently and meets deadlines.
• Handle all aspects of trial preparation, including depositions, witness preparation, and case strategy.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 6 years of litigation experience, with a focus on personal injury cases.
• Proven first-chair trial experience and strong trial skills.
• Active member of the South Carolina Bar in good standing.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Expertise in evaluating claims and determining the most effective legal strategies.
• Excellent negotiation skills with experience managing settlements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently, while collaborating effectively with a legal team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member of the South Carolina Bar in good standing.
