Immigration Attorney

Duties

• Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases
• Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers
• Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
• Review and make adjustments to immigration applications and packets
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law
• Meet with potential clients for consultations, determining case strategies
• Provide legal analysis and identify possible benefits for clients
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Immigration Law
• Proven track record of managing a caseload and progressing legal cases
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained clients, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
• Familiarity with case management software is preferred

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active member of the state bar (Nevada preferred)

Certifications

• Admission to the state bar in good standing

• In-depth knowledge of immigration law, particularly removal defense and family-based petitions
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining client relations
• Excellent communication skills for both client interaction and courtroom representation
