Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney for a partnership-track position. The candidate will handle hearings, depositions, discovery responses, and client meetings with minimal supervision while receiving strong mentorship and guidance. The position entails sophisticated legal writing and advocacy work, representing clients primarily in state and federal courts. Applicants must have a Virginia Bar admission and a minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience. The role will involve diverse litigation in various areas, including maritime, personal injury, commercial litigation, construction, and business tort matters. A clerkship experience is preferred.

Job Duties:

• Independently handle hearings, depositions, and discovery responses.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, providing legal advocacy and representation.
• Prepare sophisticated legal documents, including legal briefs and memoranda.
• Participate in client meetings, offering legal advice and guidance.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys and receive strong mentorship.
• Engage in diverse civil litigation, including cases related to maritime, personal injury, commercial litigation, construction, and business torts.

Job Requirements:

• Virginia Bar admission is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience.

Education:
