Job Overview: A well-regarded law firm is seeking a dedicated Land Use/Zoning Associate Attorney to join their growing team in Cumming, GA. This position offers an opportunity to engage in various aspects of land use, zoning, and real estate law, working closely with clients and local governments.

Location:

  • Cumming, GA

Duties:

  • Review and interpret zoning and development laws, ordinances, surveys, site plans, and environmental reports.
  • Conduct research on real estate deeds, records, plats, and current case law.
  • Prepare and submit land use applications and represent clients before local government bodies.
  • Maintain direct client contact, providing updates, consultations, and conducting strategy meetings.
  • Draft legal documents including deeds, easements, and title instruments.
  • Handle property tax appeals and business/real estate transactions.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in local government law, zoning/land use, or real estate law, including real estate development.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to attend evening hearings as required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from accredited institutions.

Certifications:

  • Active or pending membership with the State Bar of Georgia.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Lobbying experience is highly preferred.
