Workers' Compensation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Workers' Compensation Attorney to join their Baltimore, MD office. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in workers' compensation and employers' liability law. Duties

• Represent clients in workers' compensation and employer liability cases.
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Manage a high volume of cases while meeting deadlines and multitasking effectively.
• Communicate and negotiate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and trials.
• Participate in legal strategy development, including settlements and trials.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense or insurance defense.
• Strong knowledge of Maryland workers' compensation laws and procedures.
• Experience handling employer liability claims is highly beneficial.
• Admission to the Maryland Bar is mandatory; additional bar admissions in DC, PA, or DE are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while being detail-oriented and organized.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Maryland.
• Bar admission in DC, PA, or DE is a plus.
