A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its team in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense, employers' liability, or personal injury law. This position offers the opportunity to work in a flexible, hybrid environment with the potential for remote work. The attorney will handle a variety of workers' compensation cases, working closely with clients and colleagues to provide strategic legal advice and representation.

Duties:

  • Defend clients in workers' compensation and employers' liability claims.
  • Handle a high-volume caseload, including preparing and filing legal documents, motions, and discovery.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to manage cases efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate case files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and address legal concerns.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in Maryland.
  • Admission to practice in DC, PA, or DE is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense, employers' liability, or personal injury law.
  • Strong understanding of Maryland workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Experience handling employer liability claims is highly desirable.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Maryland Bar is required.
  • Additional bar admissions (DC, PA, or DE) are a plus.

  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation defense and employers' liability law.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of cases and manage competing deadlines.
