Job Overview:

A leading law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its Louisville, KY office. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation related to Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and similar state-law claims. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of employment-related matters, including OSHA cases, and provides a collaborative team environment. A strong academic background, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential.

Location:

Duties:

  • Handle employment-related litigation, including claims under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and state-law equivalents.
  • Assist clients with various labor and employment matters such as wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour issues.
  • Provide legal advice on compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Collaborate with other team members to manage cases and develop litigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on labor and employment law developments.
  • Assist in OSHA-related cases, if applicable.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Experience with Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and similar state-law claims.
  • Experience with OSHA-related matters is a plus.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Kentucky State Bar or the ability to obtain licensure.

Skills:

  • Expertise in labor and employment law, including anti-discrimination laws, wage and hour laws, and employee rights.
  • Excellent research, writing, and litigation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and case management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and compliance is a plus.
