Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Practice Support Lawyer (PSL) to support its four primary litigation subgroups: Patent Litigation, IP & Complex Litigation, Securities Litigation, and Employment Litigation. The PSL will be responsible for creating, distributing, and managing legal documents, organizing and promoting knowledge resources, implementing relevant technologies, and preparing training materials. The role also involves contributing to internal and external content development. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with flexibility for both remote and office-based work.

Location:

Duties:

  • Model Documents and Forms:

    • Create, maintain, and distribute model documents, forms, precedents, and drafting guidance for the litigation subgroups.

    • Develop client- and jurisdiction-specific templates for court filings.

    • Identify forms for automation and work with the Knowledge and Innovation team to automate identified forms.

  • Knowledge Management and Innovation:

    • Develop strategies and solutions for making practice content accessible to attorneys, such as case and judge information and matter-specific content.

    • Assist in locating and using internal and external knowledge resources and technologies.

    • Collaborate with the Knowledge and Innovation team on the use of technology to improve efficiency, including AI tools for discovery and document preparation.

  • Training:

    • Collaborate with the Attorney Training team and Litigation Practice Management to develop and present legal skills training programs for attorneys and paralegals.

    • Prepare presentation materials and assist junior attorneys with presentation skills.

    • Ensure training materials are archived and easily accessible to attorneys.

  • Internal and External Content Development:

    • Stay current on market trends and best practices by reviewing internal and publicly available materials.

    • Develop and maintain content for the Litigation practice areas' marketing efforts, including articles, client alerts, presentations, and blogs.

    • Keep track of relevant state and federal laws and case law; inform practice areas of legal developments and update resources accordingly.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a litigation practice, ideally with exposure to Patent, IP, Securities, or Employment Litigation.

  • Strong legal drafting and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.

  • Proficiency in project management and legal software tools.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in workflow and manage competing priorities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar membership in good standing (state-specific).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.

  • Knowledge of legal technologies and project management tools.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, firm management, and clients.

  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple projects efficiently.

  • Strategic focus with a good understanding of firm and practice group goals.
