Job Title: Associate Defense Attorney, Litigation (Hybrid)

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, specifically in insurance defense.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
• Attend and represent clients at hearings, depositions, and trials, both in-person and virtually.
• Provide legal research and analysis to support case strategy and decisions.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts throughout litigation processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of case law, statutes, and relevant legal trends.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and execute case strategies.
• Manage a caseload with minimal supervision, ensuring deadlines and court dates are met.

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of experience in civil litigation, with a preference for experience in insurance defense.
• Active membership in the California State Bar (or ability to obtain it).
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Comfort with using legal technology and platforms to manage cases and conduct research.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar (or eligibility to be admitted).

Skills:

• Legal writing and research proficiency.
• Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with virtual court proceedings and remote litigation tools.
