Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join their Workers' Compensation practice group. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to handle complex workers’ compensation cases while gaining valuable exposure to litigation and trial procedures. Duties:

  • Review and analyze workers' compensation claims.

  • Conduct extensive legal research and draft client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs.

  • Represent clients regularly at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board.

  • Prepare and attend trials as part of the litigation process.

  • Coordinate with expert witnesses for retention and evaluation.

  • Maintain a billable hour requirement of 1,950 hours annually.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

  • Admission to practice law in New York State (additional state admissions are a plus).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional research, writing, and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent client interaction and telephone manner.

  • Strong work ethic and self-management skills.

  • Responsiveness to email and phone inquiries.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
