Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with a strong background in litigation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established legal team and handle a diverse caseload, including general liability, slip and fall, personal injury, dram shop, motor vehicle, and premises liability claims. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing complex insurance defense matters, with a proven track record of successful litigation. The position offers a hybrid work environment and requires an active PA and NJ Bar membership.

Location:

• Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case investigation, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense cases.
• Draft and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Handle depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials.
• Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to clients, ensuring proactive communication throughout the case lifecycle.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
• Conduct in-depth legal research using Westlaw to develop case strategies.
• Negotiate settlements while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars; additional Bar memberships are a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on general liability, personal injury, and related areas.
• Trial experience and familiarity with managing complex litigation cases.
• Extensive experience handling depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and legal research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars (required).
• Additional certifications or Bar memberships are a plus.
