Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) issues, wage and hour laws, employee benefits, and executive compensation.
  • Handle complex litigation matters, including motion practice, discovery, and depositions.
  • Advise clients on employment law issues such as restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and class action lawsuits.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including briefs, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously and coordinate with clients on ongoing cases.
  • Stay up to date with developments in labor and employment law and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of labor and employment law experience, ideally with a management-side focus.
  • Proven litigation experience, including exposure to wage/hour, class actions, and restrictive covenant cases.
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft high-quality legal documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases.
  • A J.D. degree (or equivalent) and a strong academic background.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar or plans to gain admission in Illinois.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership, preferably in Illinois.

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Client-focused approach to legal services.
  • Proficiency in legal software and case management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
