Job Overview

An established national law firm is seeking a mid to senior-level associate attorney to join its Energy, Infrastructure, and Project Finance practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-value transactions in the renewable energy space, representing sponsors and financing parties in the development, acquisition, and financing of major energy infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have substantial responsibility and regular client interaction, supporting a team that advises some of the most prominent players in the energy sector.

Location

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties

  • Represent sponsors, investors, and financial institutions in renewable energy transactions

  • Draft and negotiate a range of project and operational agreements, including:

    • EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Contracts

    • Supply Agreements

    • Offtake Agreements

    • Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Agreements

  • Work on M&A and financing transactions involving:

    • Tax equity investments

    • Debt financing agreements

    • Related ancillary documentation

  • Manage project timelines and communications with clients and third-party advisors

  • Advise clients on legal risks and strategic considerations throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the energy industry

  • Prior experience at a large law firm with a national reputation or equivalent in-house counsel role

  • Demonstrated expertise in project development, energy-related M&A, or finance

  • Experience working on renewable energy projects preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top-tier accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the state of residence

  • Member in good standing with applicable bar association

Skills

  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously

  • Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
