The ideal candidate will manage a running caseload of contested and complex bankruptcy matters, including bankruptcy adversary proceedings. In addition to handling daily tasks such as discovery and hearing preparation, the attorney must possess a strong aptitude for accounting, information technology, and robust software programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of contested and complex bankruptcy matters, including bankruptcy adversary proceedings.
  • Handle daily legal activities such as discovery, motion practice, and hearing preparation.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs relevant to bankruptcy litigation.
  • Appear in court for hearings and actively participate in settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Utilize accounting and information technology skills to enhance case management and client service.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and professional legal advice.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing with the Tennessee State Bar.
  • At least 3 years of experience in bankruptcy law, with significant exposure to contested and complex cases.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and information technology systems.
  • Willingness to engage in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
