A law firm is seeking a diligent and experienced Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their team in Charlotte, NC. The candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of labor and employment law, including litigation, counseling, drafting, and collaboration on employment-related transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, exceptional communication skills, and a solid track record in employment law.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation, including lawsuits and agency proceedings related to labor and employment matters.
  • Provide employment advice and counseling to clients on a wide range of issues, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and handbooks to ensure they are legally compliant and align with best practices.
  • Collaborate with transactional teams to address employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support clients' positions in disputes and regulatory matters.
  • Prepare and present cases before courts and administrative agencies.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
  • Stay current with developments in employment law and related legal areas to provide the most effective advice and representation.

 

Requirements:

  • Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have excellent academic credentials.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or have the ability to become immediately licensed.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility to obtain North Carolina licensure promptly.

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.

Experience:

3-6 years of experience in employment law, including litigation, counseling, and transactional work related to employment issues.
