This position provides the chance to work closely with a strong paralegal team while handling a full caseload of family law matters. The role involves a mix of virtual and in-person court appearances, providing a dynamic work experience.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and client advisement
  • Draft a range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and negotiation sessions—primarily in Clark and Cowlitz Counties
  • Collaborate closely with fellow attorneys and support staff to advance client matters
  • Provide guidance and oversight to an experienced paralegal team, ensuring files comply with firm protocols and templates
  • Step in to cover cases for other attorneys as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
  • Offer empathetic counsel to clients facing sensitive family law issues, prioritizing both advocacy and understanding

Requirements

  • Active membership (or pending admission) with the Washington State Bar
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Self-directed work style with the ability to thrive in a team-based setting
  • Genuine passion for family law and commitment to client-centered advocacy

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Washington State Bar license (or in process of obtaining)
