Junior Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Junior Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in commercial litigation, corporate law, or finance law, preferably at a law firm, in-house law department, or financing company. The role involves representing clients in various litigation matters, including contract disputes, regulatory compliance, and financial restructuring.

Duties:

• Represent financial institutions and senior secured lenders in workouts, restructurings, and enforcement proceedings.
• Handle contract disputes, avoidance actions, and other types of commercial litigation.
• Provide legal advice on Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and federal/state regulatory compliance.
• Attend mediations, depositions, hearings, and arbitration proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, restructuring documents, and settlement agreements.
• Negotiate and prepare forbearance agreements and settlement terms.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in commercial litigation, corporate law, or finance law.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Member in good standing of the Illinois Bar or eligible to waive into the Illinois Bar.
