Job Overview:
A law firm in the Hudson Valley region of New York is seeking a Labor Associate Attorney to join their expanding team. This firm provides legal services to public and private sector clients, including educational institutions, municipalities, and private employers. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in labor law, including union negotiations and employment-related legal matters, and will engage directly with clients across a variety of industries.

Duties:

• Represent clients in public and private sector union negotiations.
• Handle administrative hearings involving union contract disputes and employee disciplinary matters.
• Provide legal counsel on various employment-related topics, such as labor law, discrimination, harassment, and employee discipline.
• Manage direct communication with clients to address legal matters and provide advice.
• Travel within the Hudson Valley region to meet with clients, without the need for overnight stays.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in labor law, with a focus on public sector unions.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and admitted to the New York State Bar.
• Proven skills in legal research, writing, and analysis.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

• Expertise in labor law and union negotiations.
• Experience in handling employment-related legal matters, including employee discipline and discrimination cases.
• Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
• Effective communicator with the ability to manage client relationships.
