Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a skilled mid-level associate to join its Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice in the Los Angeles office. This role focuses on providing legal support for various M&A and private equity transactions, including leveraged buyouts, sell-side deals, and growth equity investments. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in drafting transaction documents, managing due diligence, and leading both specialized and junior teams.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Represent financial sponsors and strategic buyers/sellers in M&A and private equity transactions.
  • Handle leveraged buyouts, sell-side transactions, growth equity, minority investments, and related strategic deals.
  • Draft transaction documents and lead negotiations.
  • Oversee due diligence processes and coordinate with other legal specialists.
  • Supervise junior associates within the corporate team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&A and/or private equity transactions.
  • Proven background in a corporate department of a top-tier law firm.
  • Strong understanding of transaction structuring and legal considerations in private equity and M&A deals.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating complex deal documents.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience supervising junior associates and coordinating with specialist teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously.
