Job Title: eDiscovery Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in McLean, VA, is seeking an experienced eDiscovery Attorney to oversee and manage all aspects of electronic discovery projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of eDiscovery processes, and the ability to collaborate with clients and technology providers to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions.

Job Details:

  • Be the point of contact for clients, providing guidance and support throughout the eDiscovery process.
  • Develop and execute project plans for each stage of the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model).
  • Collaborate with clients and technology providers to leverage AI technology in the e-discovery platform, optimizing processes and outcomes.
  • Implement custom workflows to reduce client costs and enhance speed-to-evidence.
  • Create and refine standard documentation, including ESI (Electronically Stored Information) protocols, Protective Orders, review protocols, training guides, and workflows.
  • Manage review teams, providing feedback and guidance to ensure industry-leading speed and accuracy.
  • Guide team leads and facilitate a collaborative environment to solve problems effectively for clients and review teams.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in eDiscovery.
  • Active license in good standing with a State Bar.
  • Ability to protect confidential Firm and client information from disclosure or misuse.
  • Experience in all phases of the EDRM, including identification, preservation, collection, review, and production.
  • Experience in conducting interviews with IT and developing/implementing preservation strategies.
  • Experience in negotiating ESI protocols and conducting custodial interviews.
  • Experience in drafting and testing keyword searches.
  • Experience in document review management at a law firm, in-house legal department, or consulting firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-moving projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to adapt work schedule to support global client engagements in various time zones.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach to providing solutions to clients.

Education and Certifications:

  • A bachelor's degree (BS or BA) is required.
  • Juris Doctorate degree required.
