Job Overview:

This role focuses on providing strategic advice and legal representation to employers regarding traditional labor issues. Duties:

  • Represent employers in traditional labor matters, offering counsel on federal and California workplace laws.
  • Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
  • Conduct research and drafting of legal documents.
  • Manage NLRB elections and provide advice on union organizing and corporate campaigns.
  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and oversee grievance arbitration proceedings.
  • Advise on wage and hour issues, leave management, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Review company handbooks and policies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Conduct management training on labor relations and workplace issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant litigation or advisory experience.
  • Preferred traditional labor law experience, along with federal and/or California law expertise.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • Knowledge of agency enforcement techniques is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to engage in regular business travel.
