Remote work flexibility is available, but candidates must be local to the Bay Area to attend in-person court hearings as required.

Duties:

  • Provide clients with legal counsel regarding their rights and prepare legal documents for their cases.
  • Represent clients at pretrial hearings and offer advice on the best strategies post-hearing.
  • Oversee court appearances, trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal research.
  • Evaluate potential outcomes of cases, utilizing legal precedents and relevant case law.
  • Manage a diverse caseload while ensuring timely and thorough case handling.
  • Offer legal analysis to identify case advantages and develop strategies for client success.
  • Gather additional evidence to bolster the defense or counter the prosecution’s charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, define case strategies, and coordinate with witnesses and experts to support the client’s case.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Criminal Defense.
  • Proven track record in handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to team-based strategies.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of criminal law, procedure, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients and juries clearly and compellingly.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple cases effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in using legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
