Real Estate/Title Attorney

A law firm in Rochester is seeking an experienced Real Estate/Title Attorney with a robust background in commercial real estate, specifically focusing on title and title insurance matters. The ideal candidate will be an approved title insurance agent with a national title insurance company, demonstrating enthusiasm for client service, initiative, and possessing a strong academic foundation.

Job Duties:

• Manage and oversee complex commercial real estate transactions with a particular emphasis on title and title insurance issues.
• Conduct title examinations, review title reports, and address title defects and curative matters.
• Draft and negotiate contracts, leases, and other real estate documents.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding title insurance coverage and claims.
• Collaborate with lenders, developers, and other parties involved in real estate transactions.
• Perform due diligence and research on real estate properties.
• Handle closings and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain client relationships and deliver exceptional client service throughout the transactional process.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 7-10 years of experience practicing commercial real estate law, focusing specifically on title and title insurance matters.
• Approved title insurance agent in good standing with a national title insurance company.
• Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in legal practice.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Certifications:
