A law firm is seeking a Health Care Medicaid Regulatory and Policy Advising Associate Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves a strong focus on regulatory analysis and policy advising related to the Medicaid program. The ideal candidate should have:

 

Job Overview:

  • Conduct regulatory analysis and policy advising concerning the Medicaid program.
  • Engage in projects aimed at enhancing access to affordable, high-quality health care services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the firm.

 

Duties:

  • Analyze complex regulatory and policy questions regarding Medicaid.
  • Provide legal counsel on issues such as coverage, reimbursement, managed care delivery systems, and demonstration projects under section 1115 of the Social Security Act.
  • Produce high-quality written and verbal communication tailored to both legal and lay audiences.
  • Conduct legal research and develop analytical insights.
  • Solve problems efficiently and creatively to meet client and team needs.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of health care regulatory experience.
  • Experience with Medicaid regulatory and policy issues preferred.
  • Familiarity with administrative law, particularly the federal Administrative Procedure Act.
  • Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar membership in California or eligibility for reciprocity.

 

Skills:

  • Strong interest in and enthusiasm for Medicaid and health care policy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
