Job Overview: A law firm in Coral Gables, FL is seeking a skilled and motivated Life Sciences Intellectual Property Attorney. Duties:

  • Simultaneously handle high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters from inception to conclusion.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation in matters related to life sciences intellectual property.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to manage expectations and provide updates.
  • Produce high-quality legal work while maintaining billable hour requirements to ensure excellent client service.
  • Independently manage caseload and work productively with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in generating business through individual and group efforts.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and clients to support litigation and business development.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in a Life Sciences discipline (immunology, genetics, molecular biology, and/or pharmaceuticals) preferred.
  • Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Licensed to practice law in good standing in Florida.
  • 6 years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or in a clerkship role.
  • 6+ years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in a Life Sciences discipline preferred.

Certifications:

  • Registration with the USPTO.

Skills:

  • Expertise in life sciences intellectual property, including but not limited to immunology, genetics, molecular biology, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters efficiently.
  • Proven track record of high-quality legal work and business development efforts.
