Job Overview: A legal recruiting firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney on behalf of an international law firm with a focus on insurance law. This hybrid role, based in Chicago, involves representing clients in first-party property insurance disputes. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense or insurance coverage. Duties:

  • Draft coverage opinions and handle litigation involving insurance coverage and bad faith cases.
  • Manage cases from start to finish, including drafting motions, responding to discovery requests, and taking depositions.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and mediations.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal arguments and presentations.
  • Collaborate with clients to build strong relationships and ensure effective communication throughout the legal process.
  • Potential for occasional travel as required by case demands.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on insurance defense or insurance coverage.
  • Experience in drafting coverage opinions, litigating insurance coverage disputes, and handling bad faith cases.
  • Strong case management skills, including motion practice, discovery, and depositions.
  • Excellent research, writing, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Active membership in the Illinois Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research, drafting, and case management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines effectively.
