Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven Immigration Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Columbus, OH. This role requires an attorney with a passion for immigration law, exceptional organizational and writing skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of cases. The successful candidate will play a key role in representing clients, leading cases, and guiding support staff in a fast-paced legal environment.

Duties:

  • Oversee multiple immigration cases simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate progress.
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals and junior staff, providing guidance and training.
  • Draft and refine legal documents such as motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies and prepare court filings.
  • Stay informed on changes in immigration laws and judicial rulings.
  • Represent clients in USCIS interviews, court hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Promote the firm's services and build relationships with potential clients.
  • Handle a heavy caseload while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting strict deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. state or Puerto Rico.
  • U.S. work authorization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Experience with immigration law and the legal processes involved.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and manage staff effectively.

Education:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. state or Puerto Rico (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law and related legal procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal information clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Experience working with legal staff and supervising junior team members.
