A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Lateral Partner Attorney to join its Alexandria, VA office. This role requires a seasoned attorney with 5-7 years of experience in workers' compensation defense and a portable book of business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong legal expertise, a commitment to client service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Assess new case files to develop legal strategies, budgets, and recommendations
Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as necessary
Prepare discovery responses and oversee document production
Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery-related events while providing detailed case reports
Negotiate settlements, obtain necessary authority, and prepare for trials as needed
Maintain regular communication with legal assistants and paralegals
Contribute to the firm’s growth through business development efforts
5-7 years of experience in workers' compensation defense
Established portable book of business
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client interactions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn database management systems
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Maryland Bar admission preferred
Expertise in workers' compensation law and defense strategies
Strong analytical, research, and writing abilities
Excellent negotiation and trial preparation skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment
