A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Boston, MA office and support its expanding litigation caseload across multiple practice areas. This role involves working on civil, family, criminal, immigration, tax, real estate, and appellate cases, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time engagements. The attorney will play a crucial role in client advisement, case preparation, and litigation, ensuring the highest standard of legal service.

Duties

  • Draft and prepare legal documents for various case types, including discovery, depositions, law and motion pleadings, court hearings, mediations, and trial preparations.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on active cases.
  • Negotiate settlements in disputes to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Adhere to all legal standards, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
  • Conduct administrative and management functions relevant to legal practice.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage and prioritize a demanding caseload across diverse areas of law.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective client interactions and legal documentation.
  • Proficiency in legal principles, research techniques, court processes, and procedures.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess cases and strategize effectively.
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, occasionally high-stress environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates sound judgment in all matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and in good standing with the MA State Bar.

Certifications

  • Valid MA Bar License (required).
  • Trial experience preferred, showcasing a background in court proceedings and litigation.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese is highly desirable, enhancing the ability to serve diverse client populations.
