The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with emerging growth companies and handling venture capital or other investment transactions. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent emerging growth companies in various legal matters, including venture capital and investment transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, term sheets, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
  • Assist clients with structuring and negotiating financing arrangements and investment deals.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients, investors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and understanding of legal issues.
  • Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends affecting emerging companies and venture capital.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant law firm experience, specifically with emerging growth companies and venture capital or investment transactions.
  • Demonstrated ambition and initiative in legal practice.
  • Strong literacy with financial matters and spreadsheets.
  • Outstanding academic record from undergraduate and law school.
  • NC Bar admission preferred or eligibility for admission.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar is preferred.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations is a plus.
