Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join its growing consumer protection litigation and compliance team. The ideal candidate will bring 3-6 years of experience in consumer class actions and a passion for complex litigation. This role presents the opportunity to take on significant responsibilities and work on high-profile cases involving consumer protection laws, including those related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, state mini-TCPA laws, and automatic renewal laws. Experience with federal regulatory agencies such as the FTC, FCC, and CFPB is a plus.

Duties:

• Manage and handle discovery, including litigation disputes.
• Take and defend depositions, conduct witness interviews, and draft pleadings and motions.
• Argue motions in court and represent clients in hearings.
• Assist with client relationship management and offer strategic legal advice.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to consumer protection matters.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in consumer protection law and other related areas.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on consumer protection or class action cases.
• Experience in other complex litigation areas, including consumer protection, unfair competition, and false and deceptive advertising, is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional legal research and analytical abilities.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Independent work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in CA State Bar.

Skills:

• Expertise in litigation, including consumer class actions.
• In-depth understanding of consumer protection laws, including TCPA, mini-TCPA, and automatic renewal statutes.
• Familiarity with federal agencies such as the FTC, FCC, and CFPB.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to client service.
• Outstanding legal writing and research skills.
