Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute US and international patent applications, primarily in the mechanical arts and occasionally in electrical and software technologies.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Perform due diligence investigations and support patent litigation and transactional matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and foreign associates.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to at least one State Bar (Indiana preferred).
  • Ideally registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, focusing on mechanical arts.
  • Familiarity with electrical and software technologies in patent applications.
