Tax and Estate Planning Attorney

A law firm in Irvine, CA is seeking a Tax and Estate Planning Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for working on foundational estate planning as well as advanced estate and tax planning matters. They will draft customized estate planning documents, advise clients on trust structures, and research tax issues related to estate planning. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of estate and gift tax laws.

Duties:

• Work on foundational and advanced estate planning matters
• Draft highly customized estate planning documents
• Meet with and advise clients on trust design and structure
• Research estate planning and tax issues
• Evaluate and update template documents, letters, and procedures
• Coordinate with other team members on estate planning matters
• Provide guidance on corporate matters affecting closely held companies

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Member in good standing of the California Bar
• 2+ years of estate planning experience
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of estate and gift tax laws
• An LL.M. or strong background in tax law preferred
• Broad knowledge of corporate matters affecting closely held companies helpful
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to professionalism and flexibility in project assignments

Education:

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Member of the California Bar in good standing
